Position Overview

As accounting manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and overseeing the local accounting team.
  • The general accounting (Balance sheet and P&L), local legal, tax and other (ad hoc) requirements
  • Support in Local budget activities

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Provides a sound financial management within an international organization

TARGET AREAS:

  • Coaches employees (8), directs and coordinates the accounting department and ensures its efficient operation.
  • Has the overall responsibility for the analytical accounting and ensures that all tax/legal requirements are met.
  • Is in charge of the administrative organisation and is responsible for the (monthly) reporting in order to provide the management committee with integrated data as a support of long-term decisions.
  • Facilitates the cooperation of the Accounting department with the other internal and external departments in order to guarantee a good internal and external course of the cooperation.
  • Pro-actively supports optimisation and improvement of IFS processes

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Direction of the accounting department
    • Coaches employees in order to achieve an optimal execution of their tasks and ensures timely and accurate execution.
    • Is responsible for a proper training and integration of new employees
    • Ensures a proper planning of the different activities of the department
  2. Overall responsibility of the analytical accounting
    • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of the monthly closing
    • Ensures accurate and timely submission of various tax/legal requirements (annual accounts, VAT statements, Union information’s ...)
    • Generates periodically states and balances that are necessary for a proper financial management and for the auditor
    • Provides P&L and Balance sheet variance analysis
    • Cash planning
    • Ad hoc analysis
  3. Administrative organisation
    • Is responsible for the internal organisation of the accounting department and supervises it
    • Is responsible for the financial figures, linked to the KPI’s (key performance indicator)
  4. Cooperation with other departments
    • Confers with other departments on working procedures
    • Takes care of a good flow of information of data and made agreements to own employees and to all parties involved
    • Introduces and optimizes procedures, policies, tools and measuring equipment
  5. Support the implementation & integration project of IFS

 

Candidate profile:

  • Relevant work experience within a similar role
  • Excellent people manager
  • Hands-on, open communicator
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch & English
  • Organized, result driven & steering with facts & figures
  • Extremely motivated, pro-active attitude
  • Excellent accounting & analytical skills
  • Critical mindset
  • Ability to meet the required deadlines

 

Education

Min bachelor degree in accounting/finance/economical sciences
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
